My First Stab at Burlesque Back in the Day

So I have been organizing all of my pictures and videos with this website and I came across this old video from mine and Davina's "Ginger Devils" show. I really did love doing that show, and Davina and I were always trying to think of new things that we could do and new elements that we could incorporate into the show. So Davina had come up with this idea of attempting to put on an old style fan dance. We had just gotten these FABULOUS peacock feather fans and thought it would be a great way to allow for people to tip and not feel awkward about it or feel that they were going to mess up our choreography.I had never done a fan dance before so I don't think I did it right. For the most part I did a lot of jazz squares and booty bops. Hope you enjoy this little blast from the past

A Mini Reunion in Madison, Wisconsin

I went back to good Ole Midwest of A for the Holidays and New Years and while I was there my former drag partner - Davina Deville - I had a little mini reunion special at one of the gay clubs in Madison, Club 5. Davina and I use to host a monthly show at the Shamrock Bar called The Ginger Devils: Gay'd in America. So the two of us, along with the drag queen crew of club 5 put on a last show for the year.

Having traveled all the way to Reno, meant that my wardrobe options were somewhat limited, so I of course had to travel out to get some new accessories. As a little Christmas treat to myself I decided to buy myself a fur coat from forever 21 and some new jewelry from Claire's - the store made for pre-teens and drag queens.

The show went incredibly well, and it was good to see old friends. I of course broke out my signature number, Proud Mary by the one and only miss Tina Turner. I figured for a one night only engagement, why not whip out the best. Davina and I also sang one of our favorite duets - if you were gay from the Broadway Musical Avenue Q.

It was great to do a show with other drag queens because I don't know if you knew, but drag queens usually do not travel well in packs together. We are competitive, territorial, and disgruntled sometimes. The queens however at Club 5 were amazing and incredibly welcoming and supportive. I hope to work with you girls again in the future.
