One of the projects I am involved with in Reno is managing a comedy troupe called THE UTILITY PLAYERS. Voted Reno's Best Comedy Troupe in 2010, The Utility Players have spent the past two and a half years creating IMPROV - The Musical. 

IMPROV - The Musical is the semi-autobiographical tale of the Utility Players. People say to write what you know about ... I believe we may have taken that advice a little too literally. One clandestine night, a group of comedians meet at an Open Mic - the future full of promise. They decide to form an improv comedy troupe to reach their dreams of fame and success. However, a downtrodden comedian - aided by the mystical forces of an evil witch - has plans of world domination and wants to destroy the Utility Players. Will he succeeded or will the Utility Players - with their own fairy godmother - overcome the forces of darkness and save the world's funny. This year, the musical is an Artown sponsored event with three chances to see it - July 19th, 20th, and 21st - at the Pioneer Underground. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
